Chad took the ACT a total of 18 times in high school raising his score from a 19 to a 32.

Payment Information

The cost is $40 per student. The minimum number of students is 30. Although there is no maximum, the limit should be based on the capability of your facility.

Payment is not expected prior to or at the workshop. After the workshop we will count the number of students and multiply by $40. We will then complete an invoice for you to be paid at a later time. If the minimum of 30 students is not met, the charge will be a flat rate of $1,200. All travel expenses are included in the student rate. There are no hidden fees.

Students: Check with your counselor on how he/she prefers for you to pay. Your counselor may want you to pay prior to the workshop or he/she may prefer for you to pay at the workshop. If you are attending a workshop at a nearby school, contact that school's counselor to see how he/she prefers your payment.

ACT Prep Book

Chad will have the ACT preparation book, Chad Cargill's ACT Prep, available for purchase after the workshop.

During the workshop Chad explains how the concepts and notes directly relate to the discussion and exercises in the book. The book is $30 including tax. The notes packet provided for each student will have page references to the book as well.

These are for Oklahoma workshops only. Other states will have to order by phone or from our website unless the items are being ordered by the school for the students. If students wish to purchase books and/or calculators through the school, we will add the sales to the invoice sent to the school after the workshop. Schools wanting to do this, must provide prior notice in order for Chad to make sure he brings the necessary items for sale.

Pre-Programmed Calculators

Pre-programmed calculators are no longer available for purchase after the workshop.

On Sep 1st, 2014 ACT changed the rule allowing downloaded programs on calculators.

We will not do a practice test or practice modules during the 3 hour workshop. Our philosophy is that you don't need to pay money for someone to watch you take a practice test then tell why the answers are right or wrong. You can do that on your own time, and any of the prep books do a great job of explaining answers to practice problems. The workshop is totally based on Chad's experience of taking the test 18 times in high school and raising his score from a 19 to a 32.

My school doesn't have a workshop scheduled, can I still attend?

If your school does not have a workshop scheduled, visit our calendar page to find a workshop at a nearby school. Call the counselor listed for that school and ask permission to attend their workshop. Parents can attend at no charge with their paid child if seating is available. Seating is limited at some workshops and priority is given to paid students.

Fly-to-You Program

Fly-to-You is for workshops that are located outside of a four hour drive from Oklahoma City. Due to the longer travel distance and sometimes necessary hotel and flight expense the minimum number of students is increased from 30 to 60. The cost is still $40 per student. Only the minimum number of students is increased to 60. Although there is no maximum, the limit should be based on the capability of your facility.

Payment is not expected prior to or at the workshop. After the workshop we will count the number of students and multiply by $40. We will then complete an invoice for you to be paid at a later time. If the minimum of 60 students is not met for a fly-to-you workshop, the charge will be a flat rate of $2,400. All travel expenses are included in the student rate. There are no hidden fees.

Students Check with your counselor on how he/she prefers for you to pay. Your counselor may want you to pay prior to the workshop or he/she may prefer for you to pay at the workshop. If you are attending a workshop at a nearby school, contact that school's counselor to see how he/she prefers your payment.

Faculty Training

Faculty training workshops are available primarily in Oklahoma (other states on a limited basis).

Summary: The teachers will walk away with a good understanding of what key content is tested on each ACT and an understanding of testing trends and strategies needed for maximizing ACT scores. We will cover general testing strategies that can be incorporated in the classroom. Then we will cover all of the key content tested in English and math as well as trends of the test writers. In reading, we will review general strategies as well as three different ways to take the reading test. Finally we will discuss the science section and why I believe this section should not be called science. I'll also add in a lot of scholarship discussions many of which you can also hear in the student workshop.

Highlights:

  1. Review of some statistical data showing a correlation between statistically significant factors and ACT test scores.
  2. A review of each section of the test as well as general test taking strategies taught in the student workshop.
  3. A sample of stories told during the ACT workshop. As with the students, if you are not enjoying yourself, you probably are not maximizing your learning potential.
  4. An outline of information schools need to teach students to maximize standardized test scores.
  5. Finally, an exciting, fun, informational, and very motivational experience.
  • Price for a single school faculty workshop is $1,500. This price includes all travel expenses and four copies of the Chad's prep book titled Chad Cargill's ACT.
